There it is..there it isn't? Google PR hide and seek

Hi All

During the last week I've noticed my Page Rank is
in constant shift. Over a period of 3 days it will go
from zero to about 3 or 4. Sometimes, the toolbar
field will just be gray.

At first, I was concerned and now I do my best to
ignore it.

Does anybody know what's the deal?

Hey Francisco,

You mentioned your website has only been up for three months so it's fairly new...

My guess would be that Google is possibly still working out your websites page rank. I reckon it will be up within the next month. I honestly have never had this problem.

Also, if you don't of know this, http://www.newbie-business-guide.com/ and http://www.newbie-business-guide.com/index.html will most likely end up with differen't page ranks

So one may be 0 and the other maybe 5...

At the moment I see both pages mentioned above as PR 3.

Hummm...that's strange!

I followed the instructions given by my hosting provider.

Hey Frans,

Well both of them are PR 3 for me now. Are they still switching?

If you want to boost your PR do some link swaps with some good PR'ed websites.

I don't think there is anything much you can do besides link swap

Be honest with you, all seems to be fine. I wasn't aware of it 'till you mentioned it.
Yeah, link building is sooo time consuming.

Hey Francisco,

It can be time consuming but that depends on how many websites you request to swap with.

One thing I can recommend about link swaps is having a look at who your competitors have links from. if you aren't going to put their links on your home page make sure the page you are linking to them from has a descent PR.

Hey Francisco,

IMO I don't think it would really matter what or how many pages link to your links page.

I don't see why the search engines would have any problems with it
