Thumbs up Future Page Rank Prediction

Hey guys,

This was posted Sitepoint (so you may have seen it already):

http://www.rustybrick.com/pagerank-prediction.php

Although I would love it to be accurate, somehow I think it's somewhat... not

I read in another forum that a guys main website is a PR of 6 and will be a PR of 10 at the next update...

But it's a nice tool to use... Helps you feel good about yuorself (if your PR is higher )

Its based on pure guesswork, its about as accurate as a blindfolded drunk in an archery contest.

Well it doesn't seem to think my PR is going up. I'm glad it's not correct this time

Google is playing around with PR values anyway.

PS, Peter, Have you checked the top menu on oe-design.com in firefox or opera, because they dont seem to work for me, in firefox they end up way above where they should be, in Opera the flash banner overlays the drop down part of the menu (im surprised it dosnt do that in IE as well, curious how you did that)

Yes, I'm still trying to get it to work in FireFox and Opera properly... It seems that firefox reads the pixels differently... I'm still not sure.

The way I got it to work in IE was by adding this code:

Code:
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">

And to the embed tag:

Code:
wmode="transparent"

Here's the full code:

Code:
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="601" height="203"> <param name="movie" value="images/oedesign_flash.swf"> <param name="quality" value="high"> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> <embed src="images/oedesign_flash.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="601" height="203" wmode="transparent"></embed> </object>

You wont get it to work in Opera because param name="wmode" value="transparent" isnt supported, I suspect it wont work in Firefox as well.

Also, despite what many people think firefox can be buggy regarding CSS positioning.
