A Virginia judge has sentenced spammer Jeremy Jaynes to nine years in prison for sending over 10 million e-mails a day with the aid of 16 broadband lines. Because the case marks the first felony prosecution for spam, however, Judge Thomas Horne postponed the sentence while the ruling is appealed.
Wow. I read in another forum that rapists and criminals who commit assault get out before 9 years...
What are you opinions on this? Do you think this guy should get 9 years for spamming?
I think he deserved it. 10 million emails a day is a lot. As far as I'm concerned that's less spam that'll come through to me.
He probably sent out adult content as well which would be a risk to young children.
I hope that it sends out a message to all the current spammers and spammers to be and possibly stop people from spamming.

I think for that ammount of spam he deserved prision but 9 years is a long time, I wouldnt like to see that sort of sentancing becoming common place though, like Mr Tech said, Rapists & criminals get less, I also get the feeling he was being made an example of but I still have no sympathy for him.
