I was wondering, do you use this?

After a fresh install of Windows I'm still on the free trial of PCillin but that's about to run out. As I recall, I began an installation of AVG once. I thought it was cool that it was freeware. However, for some reason I don't completly recall I abandoned it.

I think it was an ease of use issue, but I could be mistaken.

I tried the older version for a little while but IMHO I'd rather stick with a paid anti virus. I think it's worth that little extra piece of mind.

The thread Protection & Prevention: AV Programs gives some details on a couple of free Antivirus programs if that's the way you want to go.

I personally use a program called Vet Antivirus which is an Australian version. It has served me well

AVG is the recommended free anti virus but I would still go with a paid one especially if you've got a lot of sensitive and important data on your PC.

Not sure if you caught this. It might already be posted. However, it looks like Microsoft is soon to enter the AntiVirus game.

No I haven't seen that before. Looks good. I'd be interested in testing when it's released. Hopefully it will be up to scratch with the other AV programs. I'm sure it will

I used AVG for a time. It is quite good but I'm not sure if it can match the versions that you pay for...
