Default Advertising on Multiple Websites with PHP

Hey there,

I'm wanting to set up a network of websites that displays the same advertising banners on each website... However, I don't want to have to update each site if I have 10 different banners to add, remove etc all the time.

What would be the best way to draw advertisements from one site, and display it on the other websites using PHP and MySQL (if needed). Could I just use:

PHP Code:
$lines file('http://www.domain.com/ads.php');
foreach (
$lines as $line_num => $line) {
echo
$line;

Would that load fast enough?

Or maybe iFrames would work...

What would you suggest?

Exclamation

I think the best way would be to store all the info for the different site in a database, and grant the necessary privleges for each user at each domain.

So basically use a database to run a Ad Network.

If you don't have the time to create one; Use PHPAdsNew

Hmmm, I don't think your method is the best Mr Dooby.

I agree with Mr Tech's method. It will be easier to manage (phpadsnew is an excellent free script if you don't want to code your own) and will load fast.

phpadsnew doesn't only use PHP to display its results. You can use JavaScript, iframes and a few other methods which are good for templated scripts such as a vBulletin forum

Good luck.

Im developing something similar, its a cooperative ad network that updates from a series of central files but im having problems tracking the ammount of requests for each file.

When you say "each file", are you using text files to store the data?
