OpenOffice.org is the open source project through which Sun Microsystems is releasing the technology for the popular StarOffice productivity suite. It is an international office suite that will run on all major platforms and provide access to all functionality and data through open-component based APIs and an XML-based file format. What is openoffice like compared to microsoft office?

I installed it once. Didn't play around with it that much but from my first impression I think Microsft Office was more professional looking. I'm not sure how easy it is to use either.

A friend of mine said it was better then MS Office
