Default What to look for in a web host?

I'm looking at changing web hosts.. My problem is, there are so many out there that offer good deals etc I don't know who to choose... They all seem good.

Anyone got any tips?

Yes, it is a toughy... See if you can find one that gives a money back gaurantee... Then test out their service (especially their support) and see if they are worthwhile staying with. good luck!

The first step is to compare service plans, features and tools. The areas you need to look closely are-

1. Technical Support - Technical Support should be available 24 hours, 7 days a week and should be accessible by phone, e-mail or live chat.

2. Customer Service - It should be prompt, professional, courteous and effective.

3. Pricing - You should compare the prices of the different hosting company according to the service and features.

4. Free Trial - Also look out if a particular company is offering 15 days or 30 days free trial for you to judge their service. Even a money back guarantee in case you are not satisfied with the service offered after a period of time and you choose to cancel the service.

5. Server Uptime/Reliability - Check out whether the provider offers a performance guarantee. What is their policy if you experience prolonged periods of downtime.
