Default Registering a DNS Name

Hello everyone, I am opening up a server hosting account and everything has gone wrong with the domain name that I have chossen. My registar says that If I am going to host servers I must register my domain and DNS with ICANN, but I have been searching there website for two days now and can not find anything about registering a DNS on there website. Can anyone tell me if this is true or is my registar a bunch of idiots? If anyone can help me that would be great.

Thanxs

Hi gino.

Have you registered the domain yet? Maybe that's your problem...
