squirrelmail is actually a GPL web-based email client and yes, it is free.
But in order for the squirrelmail to work, you will still require a mailserver program running in the backend. Among the mailservers are Exim and Exchange. I don't really know of any free ones yet!

Don't you just wonder why people give away programs like this for free!?!?! :?
There are programs that people create which they could sell for 100's of dollars!

I have absolutely no idea but I am not against it.
This forum and many other software, including Apache, Mozilla and Linux (every distro) has been developed upon the OpenSource movement. Its just great when everybody shares. Nobody loses anything. Without them, I guess the Internet wouldn't have gotten so big in the first place.
Just the same as in here, if there is a problem, everyone gladly helps out without even thinking twice if there is something in it for himself/herself.

I think they do it because they are sick and tired of paying for it themselves, and they want to help everyone out there...
Why do you give free web advise? Well that I know... it is because you are a super dude! 8)

Just DO NOT use www.gotoecom.com ... If you value your business or your site
there is absolutely no support available. These guys will not answer thier phone, and will not return e-mails. On top of that, if you lose your site, e-mail, or you have other problems you have no hope of getting help!
