Default CANNOT TRANSFER MY DOMAIN !!!

Hi everyone. Last October I subscribed to a Tripod Hosting Plan (Pro). When I realised that the disk space was way too small for my audio and video content, I wrote to their helpdesk for info on how to transfer my domain to a new host.

They told me that if I unsubscribed I would lose my domain, unless I bought the domain from Lycos (that is, buying something I already have) with a 1-year subscription at 39$. Only after that could I move the site, and in any case only after 60 days following the transaction. Is there any way out of this maze?

   Italicus

Default Tripod Doldrums

Dear Ben,

the domain was registered for me by Tripod host

(www.tripod.lycos.com) with Melbourne IT

I am an Italian citizen (whose law applies?).

I appreciate your kind help :-)

If Lycos has registered the domain and won't give it to you there isn't really anyway to get it back I'm afraid

The domain is registered with Melbourne IT, not Lycos. They want me to buy it back via Lycos. Lycos is not the owner.

Buy something that is mine....

Quite odd.....

I have contacted another host. The search engine says my domain is actually clear...I need a Prozac

Thanx anyway Ben
