Default WYSIWYG Editor

I'm looking for a browser based WYSIWYG editor... I've tried a few but they are hopeless. I would prefer not to pay for one but if I do that's fine.

Any suggestions?

I've used a couple... The best free one by far is http://www.fckeditor.net/. Supported in all the major windows browsers and has tonnes of functions.

I've aslo tried one called HTML Area (http://www.htmlarea.com/) however it has been discontinued. It wasn't all that great anyway.

So definatelty FCK Editor is the way to go. I have never tried a bought one.

Thanks for the links. FCK Editor looks perfect.

I downloaded it and tested it. Wasn't that easy to set up. I had to do a bit of searching but when I finally worked it out it was great.

Takes a little while to load but it's all good.

Yes, I noticed that it takes a while to load too. It has a lot of scripts to load because of the browser compatability functions it has.

I am downloading it now -- I have been using MS Frontpage 2003. I like it, but I would like to find something else. I have heard that Dreamweaver is very good, but I have never tried it. I have tried several free ones, but have not found one that I like as much as MS Frontpage (and I have gone through several upgrades of MS FP - I think I bought my first copy in 1999). I hope that FCK Editor is going to work for me!! WR

FCK Editor isn't a program you install on your computer, it's a browser based WYSIWYG editor. If FCK Editor isn';t what you are looking for I suggest trying dreamweaver. It is very easy to use. I'm not sure if they have a trial version for it though. It didn't look like it.
