is there anyway to get full rights to a domain name rather than paying a company 2 years at a time?

Not that I know of... You have to be an accredited registrar.

I have checked on this myself with many Network Administartors as well and Computer Science Majors as well as other colleges and your answer is NO. Unfortunately KNOWONE can have full rights to a domain. Check this link for more info. http://www.zolmedia.com/TechVille/20...-Ownership.htm. Hope this helps. Please let me know.
