Email Signature

What is the best way to set up and display an HTML email signature in Outlook Express. I realise you need to do this to set it up:

Open Microsoft Outlook Express.
Click on the Tools tab located at the top left hand corner of the page.
Then click the Options button in the drop down box.
Next click on the Compose tab.
Go down to the Stationery header, and check the Mail check box.
Then click the Select button located to the right of the Mail check box and select the signature.html document you just saved.
Click Apply and then click OK.

But when it comes to displaying the HTML, is there anything I need to look for to make sure it's compatable in most email clients?

Here's a are a few tips:

1. Your css should be on the html page and not linked.

2. Store your images on your server and link to them. Sending them locally may attach them and possibly not even work.

3. If you email is entirely html it might be an idea to also create a web page for those people with text based emails, and place "Can't see this, click here" link.

I think they recommend that you use tables instead of css for your email layout. I don't think it is supported well enough yet.
