My sites is getting about 1500 uniques a day. I've opened a forum couple weeks ago but even with this traffic it's very hard for me to make peoples to register and post on this forum. Any ideas how can I give it a boost ? I know that I can do post exchange or even paid someone to post on this forum but what I want to know is how to convert my traffic for active members.

Give them a reason to register & post. Give stuff away, run competitions, offer advertising for posting etc.

You also have to make the forum look active whether it is getting friends to post or signing up as a fake member in order to make it look active. Would you sign up to an unactive forum?

Start with a few categories and start contributing to your forum by making a few posts everyday and ask your friends and people whom you know very well to join and contribute. This would get you started and will make the place look active which will prompt the new visitors to join. After you get started then you may add a few more categories and expand. Start contests and give incentives to members for a particular no. of posts and also on maximum no. of referrals.
