Default Using Pop-up messages

In a document on my web site instead of footnotes I want to have the sources of information in click-on pop-ups or something similar. After some information I'll put "(Page #)" linked to a pop-up with the book and author name.

I'm using Dream Weaver and the pop-up messages I get have an exclamation point and look like an error message. Is there a way to redesign those or am I using the wrong feature?

On other sites I have seen small information boxes like I want but I haven't been able to figure out how to make them.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you saying you want a script that when you click on a link, a little window pops up?

That's what I want. Just a simple small box or window that's easy to duplicate as I have to use it many times. The pop-up text box that Dreamweaver features in it's behaviors would be OK if it didn't show the exclimination point when opened in a browser. In Dreamweaver I do know how to use the behaviors to open a new small browser window but I don't know how to repete it without have to enter the name, size and other information every time I use it. Possibly it would help you understand what I'm trying to do if you saw one of the pages I'm working on: http://www.swiftcreekmine.com/sw_pag..._Residents.htm

Thanks for any help or ideas you may have to offer.
