the title block is large and there is a rotating globe that could be better used elsewhere.. or not at all.

colour scheme is a bit of a shocker.

frontpage fade-in or brick effects.. bad and anyone with a not so amazing computer will find extended page loading time.

some cell padding in the news columns wouldnt go astray so that it reads easier, and how about breaking up those paragraphs a bit more so that it is easier to read with less words crammed together.

getting there though. keep up the good work.

Yes, I agree the world could be used somewhere else, and the cellpadding could be used.
