Smile Review for DirectoryStation.com

I've just created a new website called www.directorystation.com
Could you give me some feedback on the layout, design, colors and time loading. Thanks very much!
(don't hesitate to submit your links for free as well )

Welcome to the forums allthewebmasters!

The design looks great! I can't see anything wrong with it. The only improvement I can suggest is you using MOD RE-WRITE for your categories... E.g: Insetad of http://www.directorystation.com/browse.asp?cat=1 it could be http://www.directorystation.com/browse1.asp

I submitted a few of my websites

I have to agree. The design does look good. Fast loading and easy to follow.

I suggest you go around the net and add some websites to your directory to add value to it. Get atleast a few hundred in there so that it has more value. That way you will have others submitting their website

Thanks for your comments

Mr. Tech: yes I'd like to do a rewrite on the website but I'm on a shared hosting and I can't install that kind of software on it. I'm on a windows server.

Peter Sinclair: That what I'd like to achieve, get hundreds of listings but it will take time.

All Mod Rewrite is is some code in a .htaccess file. Are you still not able to do that? I have successfully added on a shared server of mine.

I haven't had any experience with Mod Rewrite on windows... I suggest you ask your web host if it's possible...

Mr. Tech: everytime I search something for the rewrite mod with Windows I find some dll that need to be installed on the server. I don't think my host will want that. What do you use?

I use a Linux host and it works fine. There may be another way... Your host might just have to set it up for you.

It might be like making files writeable on windows. You have to get the web host to do ti on your behalf.
